Pennsylvania Court Decision Upholding a Woman's Right to Choose Underscores Critical Importance of Judicial Appointments
NEW YORK - August 5 - The following is a statement from Gloria Feldt, president, Planned Parenthood Federation of America:

The Pennsylvania case makes crystal clear the importance of all judicial appointments on our everyday lives. The ordeal suffered by the woman in this case should remind all Americans that judges, whether appointed or elected, cannot substitute their personal opinions for judicial precedent.

The case in Pennsylvania should never have happened. A woman's human and civil right to make her own childbearing choices is well-settled law. Courts across the country have repeatedly rejected these kinds of requests.
