Subcommittee on International Monetary Policy And Trade to Hold Hearing On World Bank
Rep. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Ranking Member of the Subcommittee, To Raise Strong Concerns Against World Bank's Terrible Record
WASHINGTON - July 18 - The Subcommittee on International Monetary Policy and Trade will hold a hearing tomorrow, Friday, July 19, 2002 at 9:30 a.m., in 2128 Rayburn House Office Building on the expected authorization request on the U.S. participation in the World Bank - International Development Association (IDA). Witnesses will be from the NGO community (Oxfam, Bread for the World, AFL-CIO).

Rep. Sanders (I-VT), ranking member of the committee, will discuss how that the global corporate economy is not working. It isn't working for workers, for families, for farmers, for small businesses, or for poor people in our own country -- and it is devastating the societies of the world's poorest nations.
